This roundabout created by Massimo Antonelli, father of a diabetic child and nurseryman from Ameglia (SP), who wanted to dedicated this project, made of information, people, feelings and of course flowers, in favour of the research of the University Hospital Meyer – Florence and who wants to remind everyone that “even children can have diabetes”.
The garden, where the blue circle stands out, the world symbol of diabetes, wants to remember the World Diabetes Day, which takes place every year on November 14th and it is the main global awareness campaign of diabetes community.
Childhood diabetes is one of the most serious pathology in the world, whose early diagnosis is essential in order to avoid serious injuries especially in children.
The Meyer children’s hospital in Florence, one of the oldest institution dedicated to childhood, is at the forefront of scientific research together with 11 others Italian centres, taking care of children’s health.
