Ancient tools, roses and grapes from Monferrato
The display of the Municipality of Coniolo, certainly the smallest participant in Cervia Città Giardino, tells of simple events and things, but of a great wealth for the Monferrato territory.
The vine and the barrel with the Monferrato rose, hybridised by David Austin, are present to testify to the cultivation of the vine, which for decades was one of the most important agricultural activities present.
This year the mayor also brought a new series of roses, including some edible rose varieties. An original mine wagon intrigues passers-by, testifying to the ancient activity of quarrying cement marl. Coniolo is a small village of 460 inhabitants, perched on a scenic hill to the right of the Po River, and the Coniolo Fiori event has been held here since 2001.
