The Mosaics of Aquileia in Cervia, Garden City
This year, the Aquileia Foundation is participating in collaboration with the Friuli Mosaic School.
The garden evokes the memories of this important city of the Roman Empire with a large mosaic, created by students of the School, a copy of part of the enormous mosaic floor of the famous 4th-century AD basilica.
In homage to the 80th anniversary of the Republic, the flowerbed is adorned with white and red blooms that recall the orientation of the ancient Roman roads of the cardo and decumanus.
The flowerbed was created in collaboration with volunteers from the Friuli Venezia Giulia branch of Pubblici Giardini.
