A Bouquet of Flowers for Democracy

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Republic, Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg in Germany, sends its best wishes to Cervia and all of Italy with this moving floral arrangement of 2,800 plants: a colorful bouquet, with the words “Happy Birthday.”

The green plants represent the Italian landscape and hope, the white plants purity and faith, but also the Alps, and the red plants the color of courage and the blood shed by freedom fighters. Over 800 blue plants pay homage to the bond Italians have with their country.

Finally, the yellow “Stuttgart” Canna, named after the city and cultivated by apprentice gardeners, represents the bond that has existed between Cervia and Stuttgart since 1969.
