Works of art for peace, light mobility and the history of a city
In its Treviglio garden, in addition to recalling the themes of peace, it is told through the works of art created by local artists. Bruno Manenti’s wooden work recalls the suffering of the Ukrainian people, also remembered in the color of the flowers. The bicycle with wings, by Silver Plachesi, is made with recycled material found in landfills and is inspired by soft mobility, a theme very dear to the city in the province of Bergamo, which is one of the few in our country to have a long and a complex network of cycle paths that connect the city in the most important places.
In the center of the garden, the glass work by Giuliano Gaigher recreates the profile of the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Lacrime, which recalls the miracle that took place 500 years ago, when tears flowed from the face of the Madonna in a fresco that saved Treviglio from the French sack.
In 2019, the Municipality of Treviglio with the presence of Legambiente Terre del Gerundo and Cooperativa Sociale Insieme wanted to demonstrate the commitment for the defence of the environment and of the human fragility.
In practice, they work to build a network in solidarity and harmony with the world around us. In addition to the guys from the social cooperative that employs people with disabilities, three local artists who in various ways recycle materials found in nature also collaborated on the setting: Silver Plachesi, Giuliano Gaigher and Bruno Manenti.
Also in 2021 due to the health emergency, the set-up was restored by the Green Service of the Municipality of Cervia.
